First let me say, this thing is a tank. Sticker on the tool box says roll-on. I never herd of it. Have anyone seen one of these before? Not sure what to do with it. Just wounding if its worth saving, it or just junk it. Thanks for any info.
A quick google search on the patent reveals several things from different sources
"On Jan. 16, 1959 U.S. Pat. No. 2,981,549 for a mobile tool stand was issued
U.S. Pat. No. 2,981,549 for a mobile tool stand was issued. This patent discloses a tool stand with a plurality of drawers accessible from one side and a flat top for a working area and temporary placement of tools and parts, mounted on wheels and casters to provide mobility to the tool cabinet."
"U.S. Pat. No. 2,981,549 to Hotton of Apr. 25, 1961"
Nice old cart. Here is link to the patent for it.

Patent was filed in 1959 and granted 1961. I find it interesting since I am currently at work about 3 miles from Taylorsville, KY. I don't know of or find any record of ROLL-ON Mfg, so appears it either no longer exists or was bought out in the past
Thanks for linking the other thread, I guess there not much info on this unit. It's definitely a cool kart and built very strong. I guess I'll make a project out of it.
Hopefully you'll restore it and share the progress here
Very cool looking.
i have seen them in plant maintenance, Jackson is a big plant maintenance tool box too
