This is for a welder. 250/50. Crooked handyman wired for me a circuit that isn't code, and an outlet that is incompatible with my welder. Circuit isn't code because he used 10/2 when code says to use 6/3. But since I will be using welder for thin materials only, and infrequently, 10/2 will do. I'll never pull more than 20 amps max with this welder, and usually less, so, I won't bother changing the wire out. But I do need to change the outlet to a nema 650.
What I need to know which wire goes where? Instructions on box are useless, and nothing on the outlet is marked. I have wired other outlets before, but never a 650R, so I need to check to make sure what i have in my head is the right thing to do.
P.S. Handyman won't honor his 'guarantee', so that is not an option. Bad man, and I've no more money to spend on this matter, so I have to do it myself.
