It’s part of the wiring harness for my daughters 6-Volt power wheel. The little connector snapped off so just want to buy a different resistor/capacitor/diode whatever the hell it is. If it comes down to it I could try to solder it back together...
You could try to figure out the max temperature and install a replacement. Or substitute it with some kind of thermodisk or klixon switch that self resets rather than self destructs.
I think I was wrong about the operation of that thing. Looking closer at the websites, it does look like that one self resets after power is removed and it cools.
Of course you do not need any safety devices after you modified the toy. It is not like you care if it catches on fire while your kid is sitting on it.
sheesh, You're right, I converted mine to twelve volts and wasn't worried about mine catching on fire when my kids used it. That could be due to my knowledge about electrical things.
