Does anyone know what type of clamp this is?

Hi. I have an unusual looking clamp that looks as if it is supposed to pinch something together at the four corners. It has a larger screw midway down that controls the separation of the corners in one direction and two small screws further down that control the separation of the corners in the opposite direction. It is about 9 inches long. When full closed, the four corners form a rectangle measuring about 3/4 inch by about 1/2 inch. I don't see any maker's name. Can you please let me know if this clamp has a special name and for what purpose it is designed? See attached photos. Thanks very much.

They also made a smaller size for Briggs and Stratton engines with the valves in the block. But that one is a full size unit.
