Does anyone make good LED strip lights?

Does anyone truly make really good LED strip lights that last? I'm talking the kind that usually come on a five meter roll and take 12 volt or 24 volt DC.

I bought some 24 volt LED strips from a local company that has a local warehouse and doesn't seem to be a fly by night company. They provide lighting for lots of local projects. I paid more in expectation they might provide a better product. The strips had a bad section from the minute they were installed 18 months ago. They have been run about 125 hours now and have light ten dead or dim sections. I didn't bother to get the lights replaced under warranty at first as I was in a time crunch and the warranty is not up yet . I'm not certain that new lights under warranty won't just have the same issue.

I bought these LED strips from Aspect LED. Their office and warehouse is 10 or 15 miles from my house. I called their sales department to ask if there is another LED strip they sell that might last longer. They said what I bought should have lasted and is really the best they sell. They offered that I could bring the bad lights to them and they would see if their engineering department could figure out why they failed. I probably won't do that as peeling them off will likely destroy them.

I thought the warranty is two or three years, but it is only one year so I have to buy new regardless.

Okay, which, if any, of these companies will even sell anything to a retail customer who only wants 30 or 40 feet of LED strip? For several them I have to go through a local manufacturer's rep. I've talked to those manufacturer's reps before and they won't even give the time of day to a retail customer. They are set up to sell by the pallet or container usually, not a piece or two to a one time customer.

Westgate says Viking Electric sells them, but Westgate is not a brand listed on the Viking Electric line card.

Even though Viking's website doesn't list Westgate, they can still get the products from them. Same is true for all those others that I listed, and more. You shouldn't have to talk to a rep. That's Viking's job.
So that you know what you're dealing with, TPR color tapes run about $40 per foot with drivers and dimmers included. Westgate tapes run around $5 per foot, with all controls and accessories costing extra.

The adhesive is junk, but not a single dead LED... Redid another kitchen recently with the same products, no issues.

This is good stuff with great product support. It's stuff that has to work every day for years. Price probably reflects that. I never specified other than these in quite a few projects.

I am just looking for single color LED tape. $5 per foot is close to what the stuff I bought costs at today's prices. $40 per foot is a bit much, but $10 or $20 per foot wouldn't scare me too bad for good stuff.

Most of the manufacturer's websites have a where to buy button, but two of them just list a local manufacturer's rep company. I'll have to start making phone calls.

I did that in my mom's kitchen. Yes none of the LED's are dead completely but the whole strip has dimmed noticably. I would guess it's at least down to 70%, which is considered end of life.

I might be a different use case, I've never turned them to 100%. My dimmer is programmed to 80% when the "full" scene is triggered and 10% for the night light. I don't have a fresh strip to compare, but it feels like they are still operating at 100% of what they were new.

I'll put it this way, if they were brand new I'd leave them a 5 star review. They are exactly the brightness that I require and if they weren't I still have headroom to use up at my dimmer. Part of me wants them to ****. I take a certain satisfaction in paying a bit more, not feeding Amazon, and getting exactly what I want without compromise. I do this routinely with specialty tools. Unfortunately, I can't find fault with these dumb lights.

These are the one I use in some signs I have made. One runs 24/7 going through cycles. No problems so far at 6 months. There connectors **** though. I just chop them off and solder everything.

Got mine for about $8 on ebay 10 years ago. I m using them as under cabinet lights in the kitchen . They are still going strong.

No, I am still using the original LED light strips with more and more dead sections. The light strips ended up way too bright so I still have plenty of light. I haven't wanted to spend $100 to $200 for quality LED light strips just yet.

I should have clarified, these are 12v. I see the OP wants 24v.
I power them with solar. I was given a brand new Vaisala Remote Weather station. I took out the junk I didn't need and use the small solar panel, controller, 2 12v batteries and weatherproof enclosure.
The box is mounted on the back of the sauna, the panel is currently propped off the ground, but will be mounted on the eaves or roof of the sauna soon.

I was asking the OP, but that's pretty cool. I've had good luck with some of the 12v solar packages off of Amazon to do similar stuff.

How are you powering the strips?

I had issues with LED strips dying early when I was underpowering them.

I have a 48 volt inverter and two 100 amp hour rack type 48 volt Lifpo batteries. The 48 volts is fed into a high quality USA made DC converter that outputs a steady 24 volts. (Actually 25 or 26 volts) The 24 volt converter outputs the same no matter what exact voltage it receives.

I know the "diode LED" brand that I buy for my electrical supplier is made in 24 volt input voltage.
