Does anyone own an Allen distributor machine?

I am trying to determine if I have a distributor issue or does my machine measure in distributor degrees instead of crank degrees.

The distributor I am testing is suppose to have 20 degrees of mechanical advance at 4800 rpm.

My machine displays distributor rpm and engine rpm this is the engine rpm.

However I am only seeing 10 degrees of advance on the flashing strobe wheel.

I am just trying to determine if it really is 20 degrees that the engine would see or is it just 10 like it is displaying on the strobe...

Yes, it's indicating distributor degrees.

Being that the cam runs at 1/2 of crank speed, measuring 10* of angle of distributor advance via the dizzy makes sense when crank advance would be specified for 20 degrees.
