Does anyone see anything odd about my dash insert?

I noticed it, but as others have said, I wouldn't sweat it too much personally.

It's hard to tell how much play the trim ring gives you, but you might be able to egg out the top of one dash opening and the bottom of the other to get rid of some of the offset. If that makes sense.
I thought about doing that but any movement upward of the speedo will increase the gap at the bottom which may be more noticible since it is so close to a hard line.

No. The entire tunnel is double wall for stiffness with the 1" space in between filled with rigid insulation to keep the heat out. The square where the shifter is has exposed edges because I installed a shifter relocation kit in the T56 that moved it forward 11" so I wouldn't have to have the Cobra style shift lever. The exposed edges will be covered over before I paint.

I'm using the 1995 factory PCM reprogrammed by Jeff Creech at Carolina Engine masters. It should be close when I finally start it up and then I can have the fuel and timing tables tweaked on a dyno.

jim, i noticed the gauge spacing. when you showed the panel in the car from a distance, it blends in.

i wouldn't worry about it much. :)

I looked at the bottom edge and everything looked fine. I seen the difference in the top but figured that was due to the curvature of the top of the plate.
