I have the Craftsman sets that came in plastic pouches, but would really like to keep them organized for easy access, not emptying out a bag and wasting time sifting through loose wrenches..

Something like this?

Allen%20Wrench%20Set%2005.jpg

or

http://store.harryepstein.com/cp/allenwrenchsets/13213.html

but just the holders, metric and SAE..

I've found one solution, but do not like it much..

I was thinking about making stand up holder.

Like dill holes on the wood, Bent sheet metal and such.

I have the same problem with 3 'bags' of allen wrenches from Craftsman.

Let me know what you end up doing,

Yes, they charge shipping, and probably sales tax also. I just placed the order, so once they finalize it and charge me, the total will be more. I probably won't know until Tuesday because of the holiday..

Thanks again! While I've heard great things about them, I'd just hate to place a $4 order and be charged something like $5 for shipping :p

I was wondering on the shipping too. I'll prolly email them and see what shipping would be like to Guam.

Hoping to get a couple of those holders as well.

Allen makes holders similar to the last pic in post #7. 56660G for an 8pc mm and 56656G for the 8pc SAE.

I've been looking lately for the same thing for my Standard and Metric Bondhus T-handle but I have not seen anything that floats my boat. I want something where the hang by the handles.

The HF set I have came with the metal stand, but what I liked most was that the handles were color coded - not only different color for each size, but in standard color coding order from largest to smallest - (Blk, Brn, Red, Or, etc). If you're also into electronics at all, makes it easy to line them up. :bounce::thumbup:

I've got one in my gangbox that I made out of a 4x4 block with a bunch of holes drilled in it. At the house I've got Eklinds and they came in one of those little plastic deals like in the OP's picture.

For those unaware, Eklind is good quality, USA made stuff at a pretty cheap price.

I wish someone made the T handle stands from billet (solid) stock so once you get the end in the top you don't have to spend time trying to find the second hole to line up and finally get the wrench all the way in. I may make me some as I have a piece of 1" Aluminum and could drill holes for each size and tig a piece of angle on the bottom as a stand. Just use a hole gauge to select the right size drill. Same problem with metal drill bit holders and locating punch holders.

The solution I have seen is, add a block of wood in that wasted space and drill a size or so larger. The wood then acts as a guide and eliminates the binding that is so common with wooden holders. Then drop them right in place.

These are three of the holders I ordered, plus one more I found elswhere. I have a 4th holder from Bondhus for the short metric hex wrenches not in the image.
