I use SoftPlan v. 12 as well as ADD 2002, LDD 2005, Civil 3D 2007 and LDD 2007. SoftPlan is a powerful program, but if you're currently using an Autodesk product, I would continue on that product.

Softplan is the choice of about 80% of the lumber yard home design people around here. AutoCad lite is pretty powerful at 1/3 the cost of the full seat too.

It is a High School.
The school does not have an Arc.CAD software for the class. A rep came by the school and demonstrated the software. (Really Cool) It is good eyecandy for the students.
I checked with local companies and community colleges to see what they are using. Many of them use Softplan.
I think I will buy it for the class. (Not a bad price)

if its a class for architectural drafting it may be nice eye candy but i dont think it will teach the fundamentals of drafting as hand drafting or even an autocad drafting program will provide.
