Does FanFold insulation block WI-FI?

We recently had our home resided with vinyl siding. It was previously very old aluminum siding. In the past, I was able to use a Wi-Fi extender in the house to get Wi-Fi in the garage.

Does the FanFold have a foil backing that could block Wi-Fi? Could it possibly block Wi-Fi more than the (removed) aluminum siding did?

I cant imagine it being any different than the aluminum siding. Did you possibly change windows at the same time ? I know that some automotive tinted windows have metal in them that will affect rf. I imagine house windows might do the same ? I have no problem getting wifi in my detached garage without an extender and my house has aluminum siding. But the router is very close to a large patio door and the garage is less than 30ft away.

OK - I was forgetting that the back of the house had some crappy vinyl siding. So no aluminum siding was there to block anything. And apparently the FanFold does block Wi-Fi.

I put my extender on an extension cord and set it on the window. Now it works as it did before.

Looks like I will probably need an extender that has a separate antenna that I can put outside.
