Hi all --
I scored this tool cabinet at our local scrap yard for $13.50
I'm planning to use Goof-Off to remove adhesive residue on it.
You might be able to see where the owners had stuck Xs of electrical tape on it,
and there are some other spots where duct tape was on it.
Will soap and water remove all the leftover residue from the Goof-Off
before painting?
The top is quite rusty, and will probably need sanding and then some EvapoRust
or something like that.
I guess for all the other specks and scratches that have rusted slightly, I'll just sand it and paint.
Planning on going back with basic red Rustoleum. A spot check seems to show that's a match.
Based on the handle hardware, does anyone know who might've made this?
Reason I ask is that I'm looking for the drawer slide clips you see in the second pic.
The last two pics are of the bottom door and it's rail.
I also don't know what's missing on either the lower door or it's rail. It just falls right out - looks from the wear marks on the door like there was some sort of clip on the top of each side of the door, that rode on those rails going into the cabinet.
