Today I have nothing planned and I am spending the entire day tinkering with my old motorcycle in my favorite place on earth. I can't think of anything I would rather be doing on a lazy Sunday.....

Yeah, I'm headed off to church, then coming home and putting together my Barrel Blaster I got for Fathers Day.

I hope your day turns out great. I used to think a day in the shop was great while building the hotrod but now days shop time is not usually all that fun. I can think of a few hundred things better than being couped up in the shop on a day filled with sunshine.

I envy all you guys. I've been off work since before Memorial Day weekend with a pinched nerve in my back. I'm not allowed to do anything. No lifting, pulling, pushing, can't drive more than an hour, and can't sit for long periods. I am bored to tears with the whole thing and would love to mow the yard or work on my 56 Chevy p/u project. Rant over.

I hear that sunny days have been in short supply there this summer.

Yes we have had a wet and cold spring. Still trying to plant beans that should have been in the ground a month ago. The renters got ~20 acres in yesterday. But with the cold ground they grow slow.

I'm stuck indoors today, healing from poison ivy I got from helping my BIL with his yard last weekend. I went outside for just a few minutes and My blisters started oozing. No need to scare anyone today so I'm staying in and playing with my new iPad.

Dougmac, you got it all there. Old shovelhead, bendpak lift and a clean shop. I'm on the road working and envy you guys spending time doing whatever you want in the shop. next week I will catch up.

dougmac, Very nice. I used to get heavy criticism from my fellow riders for wanting to tinker on a nice day. The fact is I enjoy tinkering and cleaning as much or more than the actual riding. Then there is the sitting back and admiring your handy work that must be done as well.

99SVT, or anyone else, What is a Barrel Blaster?

Got a couple of days off after today. Going to spread some 'agent orange' on the weeds/garden then give the Sunbeam Imp a service and general clean up. Probably burn a load of old wood etc in the evening. Hoping it's not too hot tomorrow as I'll be outside most of the day.

Yeah I hear ya' about the whole riding vs tinkering thing. I am actually preparing the old shovelhead for a road trip that a friend and are taking in a couple of weeks. I like riding, but a also enjoy the hell out of just tinkering around in the shop! It is nice here today too!!

Pinched nerves are a PIA.
Been having that problem with my neck.
First affected my right arm and hand, it's permanent with my right thumb numb all the time.
Now it's on my left side, half my left hand is numb most of the time.

WOW!!! Hope mine looks that good some day.
It was in storage for about 12 years, this is a pic from last winter when I got it.
Haven't had time to do much with it yet. Pretty dirty. Just under 20k on the odometer.

Is that a 1976 or a 1975? That is the paint scheme for a 1975. Also I believe that the trim on the back of the front fender is for a 1975? My 76's has FLH printed on that trim rather than the horizontal bars and different graphics on the tank.

Very cool bike!!!

It's my Dad's old bike, thought it was a 76.
I'll have to check the VIN.
Thanks for the info.
