Does Klein still make their own adjustables?

The word on the street is Klein is having Irega of Spain make their adjustables now, but I still see the original Klein on their website. :headscrat

They made their own adjustables at one time anyway.

Fast forward to 2:55 and you'll see some guy sorting wrench parts.

And then fast forward to 4:12 in this other video:

My Home Depot just expanded the Klein section in the last week or two adding a couple dozen new items including adjustable wrenches. They are 8” or so, open to one and a half inches, have a dark blue dipped handle and say Spain on them. They appear very high quality, nice and tight with excellent machining. I almost popped for one since it’s pretty short but opens very wide but it’s 37 bucks so I chickened out. For now.

Interesting, I wonder when they stopped. And if they sold usa and Spain made wrenches alongside one another. Or if there was just a lot of usa inventory to burn off.

According to one of the Klein sons, all their hand tools are “outsourced”. They only make specialty tools in the US.

My guess is they quit making the adjustables when they moved production from Chicago to Mansfield Texas.

Kleins adjustable plant was in Roselle Illinois, originally set up for Klein by TOP-Kojyo of Japan. TOP had previously supplied Klein with adjustable wrenches and entered into an exchange for Klein to equip Top for plier production and Top to equip Klein for adjustable wrench production, hence the Klein USA wrenches have a strong resemblance to Japanese Adjustables

The one obvious difference (other then COO label) I've seen between the US Klein's and Irega's is the Irega's have the etching on the jaws for size like Channelock wrenches do.

I saw reviews/questions on Amazon about a year ago inquiring about which wrench they'd receive. I am kind of curious as to why they stopped the US production.

I believe the Roselle plant was moth balled and production moved to Texas, Klein obviously didn’t think their own adjustable wrenches made enough profits so ceased production with exception of their adjustable podger wrenches

I stand corrected on my statements about Klein adjustables always being rebrands. Thanks for the correct info!
