Does Snap-On manufacture KRA series boxes?

Any truth to the assertion that KRA boxes, whether Heritage or Classic series, are not manufactured directly by Snap-On? And does anyone know who manufactured the Blue Point boxes? It came up in conversation with some guys today on one of the tool trucks (obviously not Snap On), and its been on my mind to get it settled. Any body know?

I have a KRA2007 roll cab (heritage series ).
The sticker on the back says:
Snap-on tools corporation LLC - Made in Canada
I assumed that Snap-on made it but I'm not sure.

What I remember being said is that they (KRA series) are made by International in Canada for Snap-On.

International also imports Chinese boxes. I found this out when shopping International on ebay. The seller also has a website. The boxes were inexpensive so I asked where they were made. The seller told me which ones were made in Canada or China.

Different company. I don't think anyone has found a company website for International tool boxes.

Here is the website for the ebay seller I contacted that is selling International. If it is important keep in mind you have to ask where a particular box is made. The ones I looked at were the same price on ebay and their website.

Do they have a website or anyone have contact info? I'm looking for parts for my box and I thought maybe contacting the OEM would be a possible angle on getting what I need.

Does Snap On make anything of their own anymore, instead of having custom specs adhered to during subcontract work?

International is located in Drummondville, Quebec. They manufacture the Craftsman boxes for Sears in Canada, and, at one point, boxes for Gray before Gray started making their own...

There is more info on an old thread here.

No, the KRA boxes are made by Snap-on here at a plant in Newmarket, Ontario (just north of Toronto).

I thought that KRA designated import, and KRL designated domestics?

Thanks for the link to that SPG International site. I might have found an addition to the shopping list!

it looks like the "classic" boxes are US made and the "heritage" boxes are canadian.

Snapon lists the country of origin for almost everything on their website now. Krusty has it right - KRA Classic series is made in USA, KRA Heritage series is made in Canada. If you want to know if a Snapon or BluePoint tool is USA made just check the website.

That looks like my "KRB" Bluepoint box, going by how the sides of the box are made. The slides all say SO.The drawer pulls are rounded off, instead of 90 deree edges, etc.
The label says made in Canada.I always thought it was from the same maker that made the KRA boxes.I've never had a problem with it.If parts are NLA,I'll be bummed!
Maybe ask SO if the parts for a KRB unit is avail? If you pull out a drawer,do they have the latch tang in the back? With some work,it would be possable to homemake the latches and the long column that has the square cutouts for the latches to engage.
That front-locking bar looks like the one that SO has always shown in their catalog.
I found a way to install the aluminum trim on the rounded-off drawers so it matches the KRA units.Looks way better with the trim,I think.

KRA models are made in Canada and Mexico sometimes only assembled in the states.\. KRB models come in over the boat. KRL series are made in the states.

i guess date manufactured and region of sale makes difference.
Over a decade and things got lot worse for sourced in asia lol .
snap-on push a lot more chinese/taiwan sourced products in europe at crazy prices and main reason snappy got real bad reputation outside usa .

The prices have got notably crazier over the last two years, and stock has got significantly worse. Snap on uk are trying to move away from a model where they hold stock centrally, to where the majority is held by the franchisee.

Fwiw, I'm fairly sure my 40" kra is made in China and my 54" is made in Canada.

Suspect that was sarcasm...

Maybe it was said it in jest, but I've seen some crazy responses to and from people in these zombie threads. So one never really knows.....

But if the question is real, here is the answer:
