id like to have the glass replaced and it calibrated do you think they or somebody else would they do it? and how much do you think it would cost? it only seems to have 3 different threads all marked 14mm but it looks like it would be easy to retro fit other thread sizes. and if anyone with old catalogs could tell me what parts im missing from the set i would be grateful.

Dunno about the repair of the older Snappy stuff... I would guess taht it would depend on your dealer.

Those Walden Spintites are in really nice new shape! Like a time capsule...

If you figure out the part # you could look in the parts section of their website: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/parts/main_xml.asp
If it works fine and just the glass is broken; go to a glass shop and they probably could cut a new one for you. To figure out the calibration, you could test a cylinder with another compression tester and compare the results; Autozone/Checker have loaner tools for free to do the comparison with.

I am actually in the same boat as you, except my plastic cover on the compression gauge is fogged up.

BTW Those old Walden nutdrivers look awesome. Show off some more shots:thumbup: What surprises me is how old they look and they are Metric!

I've had some older Blue Point stuff repaired. The truck guy didn't have the stuff in his computer anymore (if it was ever there), but has his own outside repair people who will do it. There's a charge. I'm not sure how much, but he's reasonable, so I'm going to assume that the repair cost is reasonable.

I think you could easily fix the broken glass yourself. I would start by removing the face then going to the local glass shop. I bet you will find that they can fix you up no problem. BTW, very cool nut driver set, love the rack.

I have gotten replacement lenses for Mac gauges. They are usually on the truck, standard sized, and only a few dollars.

I have the exact same compression tester. Mine has a cracked hose, and I was wondering if Snap-On could get me a replacement. I'll have to bring it on the truck one week and see what my guy tells me.

what size adapters do yuo have for yours? mine only has 14mm and id like 10 & 12 also.

i got 2 sets of those Waldens the other day from a guy that closed his hardware store in 1973. I opened this box since im going to keep them and use them the other set is the same and still sealed by the label in the box. im going to ebay them to help pay for the other stuff i bought this weekend. i got myself a nice older Snap-On top box for $60 in decent shape. itry to by enough stuff to sell some on ebay and make enough that the stuff i want to keep is free :pimpflash

YEP. Now that you mention it, Elroy had a new piece of glass cut at local shop. Should be no problem at all especially if the bezel is not crimped on.

Calibrate buy comparison with another gauge. You would have to rig up a common manifold and apply pressure to both gauges simultaneously. Again it's not that big of a deal but would take a little bit of effort and another "calibrated" gauge

its really nothing special mostly just a bunch of odds and ends a couple boxes. but i will take some pictures of my boxes before i put tools in them. my little one needs cleaning anyway. i will basiclly buy any older or newer high end american made tools when they are cheap.
