Does the diverter valve have a flow restrictor?

I lose a ton of flow whenever I turn the temp all the way to hot in my shower. You have to keep it no more than 2/3 of the way to retain good flow for some reason. Why? I removed the flow restrictor in the head and that helped tremendously, but the flow still decreases to nearly nothing when turned all the way to hot. Is there a screen in the diverter valve? Ive seen those so rusted water can barely pass through, but I don't think that's the issue because I would be having poor flow at lower temps too

Has nothing to do with your diverter.. I’m guessing you have a mixing valve issue. Not knowing what brand of faucet you have, I’d pull the cartridge out to examine it. Lots of these cartridges have adjustments on them for both temperature limiting and flow. If it’s a Kohler, their cartridges are warranted for life and they usually send them free of charge if you’re the original purchaser.

I bought it from home depot like 3 years ago Doubt I have the receipt. My guess is its gunked up from the nasty well water we have here if thats possible. I want to say its a delta

I guess you are getting all the hot water flow you can.

Cold water is flow. It’s water. To get hotter you have to slow that down, right? You can’t keep constant flow unless you get more hot water when you slow down the cold.

I was the one that installed it, so I dont know if i should have adjusted the flow on the valve before installing it. Idk. I'm not a plumber

This isnt the first time I've had a diverter valve fail. I had a house where I used a shower once when I first bought the place, then only ever used the master bathroom shower after that. Fast forward 3 years I had a girl over and had her use that shower and guess what? No hot water
