Hey Everyone, I have spent most of the last 2 days searching online and in stores for a fitting that I can't seem to find. I'm not sure what to call it or if it exists...hopefully someone here can help me.
The Check valve on my IR compressor is connected to the pump by hard copper pipe. 5/8 outer diameter, 1/2 inch inner. The ends of the pipe are flared (see images below, but the threads of the nut aren't typical I guess. The nut has a diameter of 7/8 and the threads are 18 per inch. Someone on here suggested they were reverse flare, which I believe to be correct, but I can't find an adapter with a male fitting for reverse flare, only female adapters with a male NPT fitting on the other side. I've tried explaining this to 2 plumbing supply places and I'm told that my measurements must be wrong because flare fittings at 5/8 don't have 18 threads per inch....and there wasn't any real help after that.
I need to connect my 3/4 NPT hose to the check valve...so what are my options? Would the local Grainger potentially have this (they closed before I had a chance to go Friday and are closed on the weekend)? Also, what do I call what I'm looking for? Thank you for any insight!
