Not a problem. Garbage Chinese multitools are readilly available from many other sources. HF would only be one more place not to buy one. I have several real Leatherman tools for many years. I accept no substitutes.

Gerber makes a really good one too....i keep one in the tackle box..
Got a few of these in various bags and boxes....don't use them much, but when I have they've done the job.

Gerber makes the best ************* multi tools.
The cheaper Leathermans have been pretty good for me for that stuff... the ones they had for like $35 a couple years ago. I got a couple to chuck in my car and under my motorcycle seat.

Leatherman Sidekick is pretty good. Way better than anything made of Chinesium.

I've had a SOG and a Leatherman for years, and still can't decide which one I like better. I will, however, agree that after owning a nice one, the cheap Chinese **** is practically useless.

I love my worn out old original Leatherman. Its been back twice for repairs(broke tip of the pliers and broken philips) Its so well used I can whip it out like a butterfly knife.

Leatherman and Gerber are often touted as the best brands of multitool. I've had both and would choose an individual HF tool for any of the functions.

Multi-tool's have their place, but they'll never replace the proper tool. I'm really glad that HF doesn't sell one. Could you imagine what a "POS" that thing would be!!

I've got a shitload of Leatherman tools, most from pawnshops.
Think the most I've spent was $35 for my Surge. Least was $5 for my Charge.
Really like the Wingman or Sidekick for entry level stuff.

nope...I have a box full of them I never use...I always laugh when someone pulls one out to try and fix something and fails, then I grab real tools and do it in less time it takes to bust your knuckles on a crappy multi-wannabe-tool...

I don't think anyone would use one instead of real tools. They are for the quick fix necessary when you don't have real tools available.

Both my kids have been in Boy Scouts since they were old enough to sign up and now one is 19 so he just helps now and the other is still in so we have had many of these for them to take with and the best cheaper ones I have found were from menards, the Guidesman brand.

We also have 2 Leatherman Sidekicks that we got at Home Depot around christmas for really cheap and these are just as good I think, not on par with the higher end Leatherman just as good as the cheaper Leathermans.

Agreed, there are other good ones from Gerber, SOG and others. Everybody has their favorites. Where I worked, all the techs carried one. Somebody said they are not real tools. If you work in one spot there is always a single purpose tool that will do the job but if you have a big area to cover and are under the gun, it is the best tool for cutting off a belt or pulling something out of the works or straightening or replacing a small part, stripping a wire or popping a bottle cap. They are what the Swiss Army knife tried to be but never was. The little one that goes on a key chain is great too. I still have a couple of Lman 200 Supertools.

Then you better have very big pockets to carry a bunch of tools to replace one multitool in a belt holster. The idea is to have a tool on the go so you don't have to carry a knife, serrated knife, file, bottle opener two sizes of flat blade and phillips screwdriver,wire stripper and not carry a tool bag. If the concept was't sound they would have not sold millions of them. Besides the reputable brands are not plagued with HF's iffy quality. Chinesium is a lousy blade alloy.

I honestly don't know how many multi-tools I have....probably something like 10. I have had to go to many training classes for work, and half the time some form of multi-tool is part of the stuff they hand out at the end. I've had most of the common Leatherman models, SOG, Gerber, etc and so far none hold up to the Swiss Tool line (I paid for that one). They aren't cheap, but they're really well made.
