Hi Everyone ,
Projects have been slow for a while in my little workshop. I posted last Feb, 13, 2016. I still have 13 little tractors, just bought a brand new JD X-590 . The last month my latest project has been my workshop . I have gone through every inch
of it cleaning and repainting , new foam floor pads and new floor matts. Even painted the ceiling and the floor. Also painted the drill presses and band saw. It is hard top believe how much I saved over just 11 years in this newer workshop. I gave away five barrels of scrap steel , three wire welders , one lincoln buzz box, one plasma cutter , two air compressors, cutting torches and tanks, hand held band saw, 10 air tools, 35 screwdrivers, 25 garden tractor tires and rims, two kerosene heaters, a dozen driveshafts and u-joints, hydraulic hoses and cylinders, etc. I guess the day came to clean things up, ha,ha. Here are a couple pics of the new clean workshop. I feel so good and I am actually excited to do a new project. Funny how you hang on to stuff , some of it for over 30 years and you never do use it. If things go as planned I should post again in the near future. :rocker:

I wish my shop was that clean. I clean it up and then I get it messed up again, sort of non-ending cycle.

Thanks for the nice comments , I always enjoyed posting here. Actually the JD in the shop is almost 3 years old. The brand new one is in the front garage . When your my age when all posts stop it can be someone passed away or got very sick. I bought a new GMC truck a few weeks ago so my 21 year old GMC got some new tires and rims and got lifted a little .
It only has 34,000 miles and nobody would give me much for it so I had it tweaked . My daughter, son in law and grandson love it. It is fun to drive and Deb likes it when I help her get into the seat, ha, ha,ha. I sold my custom JD 110 and my custom JD 140 two weeks ago and the fellow who lives near Bay City , Mi. said he is going to show them at some tractor shows this month and next month. So that will be nice .

Yeah, same thought I have about making the bed. Make the bed/clean the shop, then take the photo, and then back to bed/ back to work

Still, nice lookin' shop...at least when it's clean.

Somebody likes red! I can't help but think if someone leaned against a bench too long that they would of been painted red too:lol_hitti

I like that iron shear you have there.

Always enjoyed the JD builds.

Good to see you're back. I've enjoyed following along with your projects both on here and in Farm Show magazine.

I am a fan of the color choices, tools and shop stuff in red and tractors in green

It is hard to keep the shop clean. I built my workbenches all on new red steel tables and red tool chests . Then I bolted countertops to them. I always liked red in in workshops .
No big projects on the list yet but I would like to go back and paint the Bolens frame steer back to Bolens colors and decals and paint the Wheel Horse grader back to Wheel Horse colors and decals. Im ready for more variety of colors , ha,ha.

I found out today that the fellow who bought my two custom JD tractors two weeks ago has already showed them. He also said he is showing them this weekend at the 2017 Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Show near Oakley , Mi. None of my little custom tractors have ever left my yard so it is cool to think Jim is showing them for the first time. All the fun hours I spent in my little workshop tweaking them will now be fun for people to see in person. ;)

I've followed your tractors for a while.
A couple of them are pinned to a board so I have to look at them often, to get me off my ****.

Your work is well seen in my circle. Someone asks what I mean by building a
Parade tractor,
I show them your great work.
Somehow I missed it on GJ and know it from other sources.

You're kind of my
Chip Foose meets George Barris.

Man, I wish you hadn't shown the picture of that grader...a new search is on. I've already broadcast the picture to our search group.

Thanks for all the kind words. As much as I loved building steel models all those years , I still was so excited when I bought my first few little tractors. Working on them in my little workshop was perfect size. They still take me back to living on the farm as a boy. My folks passed away and the farm was just sold . These little tractors will still give me farm boy memories. Although I have never driven any of my little tractors in a parade or taken them to a show I often think it would be great fun . Your 140H3 project sounds great and very unique with a backhoe. And then putting a unique engine in it besides, wow !!! Very Cool !! My best years so far in my little workshop have been tweaking the garden tractors . Hard to believe that small work area has produced so many projects. I have now got enthused cleaning my back shed. Its pretty rough but once I saw my workshop clean I wanted to keep cleaning, ha,ha,ha. The grader was another crazy project I loved building. I love seeing other peoples projects , yours sounds great.

Cleaning my back shed - Here are a couple pics of my back shed cleaning progress. Its been 10 years since I worked in this back shed. I spent a whole day cleaning and painting the workbenches. Today I worked in the next area cleaning, putting up new shelf boards and painting . I got motivated cleaning my other workshop so I started cleaning the back shed too. I'm very pleased how it is cleaning up .:)

Another day cleaning the back shed but now I got 10 little machines inside . I have one more small room to clean and the back shed will be clean . This old shed is mostly bolt together in sections and a patio block floor. Not fancy but it has been so useful for over 25 years. I was always thankful to have this old shed. I got the Gator hooked up to two trailers with the last of the junk . Almost embarrassing how much stuff a person saves over the years. :dunno:

Don, glad to see you back. Shop looks great, so does the truck. Just bought a twin of it for my son. I would be interested in hearing the details of what type of lift you used, and what size tires you went with.
Greatful for any help you can give me, if you don't want to clutter up your thread with truck info, I could PM you. Thanks, Brian

Brian, the local tire shop installed a 6" lift kit , some 35" tires on some new fancy 20" rims.
Still cleaning the back shed , should get the last of the painting done today . Got some roof leaks so next I will start sealing up that , not too bad. I sure am even liking the old shed again .
