Don't ask Tekton questions on weekends unless it is important

It was Sunday night and I was wondering if Tekton screwdrivers were made to meet some specific standard such as JIS.

The web site mentions shortened Phillips so today they start better.

I filled out the form Sunday night and asked. And received an answer Sunday night. I wasted some guys time Sunday evening to satisfy my curiosity.

The answer is no, BTW.

I knew their service was good, but I feel kind of bad for that one.

Maybe not. He might have been at the office, bored out of his mind. But he's getting paid whether you ask a question or not. You might have interrupted his video game time, or his inventory taking, or email clean up time, who knows depending on the company and the person's motivation.

Or, he might have been at home, just waiting to see if he got any messages. Chatted with a few people in these roles in the past, some base pay if you are just "on call", can do what you want during that time, then a higher rate for ** time if someone contacts you. Something like rounds up to 15 min intervals, at double the "on call" rate.

There are days that either of those sound like reasonable gigs.

I heavily redacted your response, but, you just made me feel a lot better.. so now I only feel a little bit guilty.

I wouldn't feel guilty. It's their job plus they pride themselves on service.

I wouldn't fault them for having a delay in response but give them kudos for jumping on it.

I wouldn't feel guilty either. Either he is being paid to answer on a Sunday evening or he just wanted to.

It's not like you called him and woke him up in bed.

Just anecdotal.

When I was dealing a lot with Tekton customer service a couple of years ago I kept connecting with the same guy after typical work hours.

I asked him about working at Tekton (I was interested in possibly working for them, but live nowhere near the Midwest) and eventually talked about he and a lot of the customer service reps are remote.

Granted that was coming off the heels of the pandemic. So maybe like most businesses now they’re moving to a hybrid or in-person model.
