Here is a dog house I built for my Shiba Inu "NALA". Its made from reclaimed lumber and pallets, fully insulated, 2 story, douglas hard wood floors, electrical lighting, and heat. The outside has solar lights picked up on clearance and used basement windows. Rough measurements are 4x8x5. I have a thermostatic controller that's wireless so I can keep track of the temp inside. Both sides of the room is hinged for access.

This is awesome! You can feel completely guilt-free being at work all day and having your dog stay "outside."

Awesome shiba house, penny our shiba hates being outdoors without us, so that kinda house would be wasted on her. Not to hijack your thread. I love Akitas (had one growing up) got the girl to love shiba's, now both our families love shiba's.

Holy ****, that's nicer than my house. Haha! Lucky pooch. I'm planning on making a doghouse (or two, I suppose) that will have the same siding and shingles as my house and rest against the house, but no heat or lights were planned. :p Mine are house dogs though. Great job!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to get inside pictures yet as I'm at work sitting alert with the helicopter. I'll get picks later in the week when I get off work. The heat source is nothing more than a small 115v base board heater with a thermostat. Electrical ran through to lighting a electrical plug-in' for powering a vacuum to clean the inside. Our Nala loves being out side, she protects our house and property. She comes in on bad weather days to play and or when ever, but she accualy prefers to sleep in her house. I enjoy building rustic items and furniture and this just topped my list. Eventually I will build more, I am wanting to build a old west town down in the pasture along the creek beside our grape vineyard.

We live up in the mighty north so it had to have heat and insulation. We are known to have -25 degree and down to -45 wind chill
