I have to make do with what I have, I bought the place when I was 20, so it's nothing fancy. I've managed to get it better after 5 years, though. I'm hoping in another 5 years (should have some loans paid off) to basically double it in size, or sell the house and move out of town with a nice shop. We'll see.

I've had to do lots of things to maximize storage and space. Once I get the second compressor built, the other will be gone, so that will help. That wood saw table is going bye-bye, too. I'm hoping to pick up a 56" international toolbox with the tax refund.

It's not normally quite as crammed, but it's been cold enough that I've been parking in it lately. It's heated and air conditioned, which is a big bonus.

I agree, is that a diamond axle I see hiding there....btw where are the pictures of the rig? Take your time..you've got a lot of it....looks good to me.

I was thinking either Diamond, or one of the new Spidertrax.

I'll echo what everybody else here has said... Looks good to me. I was in much the same situation until last year. My first house (I was 25), had a small 2-car and I had WAY too much stuff. If I wanted to work it all had to get pulled out into the driveway or constantly re-arranged. Looks like we're both wheelers, so you know what fabrication is like.

One suggestion I might make, it worked well as a stop-gap for me, not sure if it's an option for you though. Put up as large a shed as you can afford and/or the HOA will allow. That would allow you to off-load some of your parts and stuff out of your working area. Later if you move you can see about taking the shed with you if you want as well. Heck, I've got 5 bays now, and STILL built a shed, it's handy to have a place to keep stuff that doesn't belong in a garage/work-space.

Smashing indeed! At your age, 25? I had a small chest and roll cab and a few odds and ends at my parents house! I didn't get my first house till age 35 so by comparison you are light years ahead of where I was at your age. Bravo!

It is way to small. It's one of the smallest garages I'v seen. Heck you can only bring one part of a vehicle in at a time (front axle).LOL

I think it's great. You should be thankful for what you have. There are members of this board who would love to have your garage.

Not very often that you see someone own a Bolens tractor that is older then they are. You have good taste in tractors, so you have to be OK in my book....:beer:

I gotta agree with everybody else for 25 years old you are doin real good . I hit 40 this year and my garage isnt much bigger than your now if all goes well with my new business I will be making a little 25X30 addition onto mine in thew near future which will certainly help. I agree get a shed if you can to move stuff into that wont be afected by temperatures and hang the tablesaw from the ceiling the minute you get rid of it you will miss it trust me.

If memory serves from the Nissan forum that he and I are on, it is a Crossed up hybrid axle. Ford 9" center with Dana 60 outers.

http://www.crossedupoffroad.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=21

EDIT:

Dug up the post with info:

Specs:

Crossed Up Offroad 65" WMS housing with custom 9" centersection/Dana 60 outers.

Third:
Strange Engineering third member and billet daytona pinion support
5.43 richmond gears
35 spline ARB
1350 forged yoke

4340 alloy 35 spline axles with Longfield 300M u-joints

Stock Dana 60 knuckles, custom 6 lug hug/rotor/spindle/brake setup that will fit 15" wheels.

Warn 35 spline hubs, I will also be getting a set of 35 spline drive flanges for the serious stuff.

Devinchi is right about the axle. I do have a 8x16 "shed" (one of those temporary garage things), but it's filled too. Set of tires, lots of steel, canoe, rough sawn timber for flooring, junk parts to get scrapped, lawn mower, fertilizer spreader, sprayer, wheelbarrow, flatbed cart with all the metal scraps, etc. I don't really want to build a permanent shed right now, as I don't know how/where everything is going to end up.

I hope to build in about 5 years, and if I choose to stay and not move out of town, I have (maybe) two options. The first is to build the garage out to these trees. I would make this part of the garage come forward farther so I had more room to work around a vehicle with the door closed, and raise it for a lift.

The second (possible) option is that my neighbor is fairly old (getting to be close to 80) and he owns all 5 lots across the block. I have 3 lots, and the 3 lots of his directly behind me have nothing but an aboveground pool, and they're surrounded by trees. I've told him I'm willing to buy those 3 lots, and he's expressed interest at that in the future. If that works out, I'll leave the garage alone, and build a shop on his 3 lots.

Oh, this is the rig the axle is going in eventually. I need more hours in a day.

I though you already had it under the HardBody. Of course I am one to talk, I bailed on my whole project and sold off my truck and the 'mog axles.

Nissan Crawler, I am glad there is a possibility you may build a shop on your neighbors 3 lots.

I was going to suggest more storage sheds. Here in Virginia thats a sign of wealth. The more sheds you have the more STUFF you need to get rid of... no no I mean you own.

I agree, great start. I am 24 and have been in my house for 3 years and I'm still trying to get everything organized so I can put a car in there.
