Cool idea! Thanks for sharing...

How does the home-made tool perform? I think that I might be a little concerned about the overall balance of the home-made part when spinning at 20k rpms. But then again, I've never used it. Any problems with the discs coming apart?

Again, neat ideas. Keep them coming!

Edit... just perused your website. Really outstanding job on that website!!!!!

neat idea but I would be careful with not letting the now threaded shaft slip, as I checked into the prices of collets and they are pricy.

The metal inside the regular roloc is larger then the nut I use, anyway on mine. Give me a diameter measurement when you get it trimmed back as far as you can, and still useable without it flying to pieces.

Thanks Rob

We just trim the rubber down to bare metal on the adapter. No, we don't wear the disk down to the little metal piece on it, but I never would anyway. It's too time consuming and ineffective.

Heres the first one I made,http://www.1969supersport.com/tools.html but the little discs had a short life, so I went to the more solid nut.

I'm working on the edge of the supports that hold the floor pans, and after I plug welded them, I needed to get something in there that was narrow, that wouldn't round off the edges.

Also in the narrow part of the rocker panel I needed to get in there also, these little discs will get in there and get it done.

Anyway, if you can get a measurement.

Start out with a 3" disc & work it down to that size you would definitly get your money's worth out of it.

This sounds like one of those "try it yourself and see how it works ideas." Thanks for posting this up, Rob. I'll definitely be giving it a try.
