My driveway is old and needs to be replaced at some point as it's a bit above slab at this point, and in late winter as the ice melts is runs into the garage. I am doubtful a hurricane strip on the door would be enough. Considering 3 options, cut out 1st foot or so

and fill with rock an drain tile ( not sure I like this one could cause slab heaving maybe)

Or form concrete lined Swale tipped.

Or install a channel drain, but I am not sure it wouldn't just fill with ice.

Does the driveway pitch left or right in front of the garage or would the melt off just puddle in front if you put in a very low curb?

I like your idea of the concrete swale

I wouldnt want the melt off running under the garage and freezing at night like may happen if you open up a trench drain in an old driveway. If you could force the water to run on the surface that would be better where you are, no?
