OVERHEAD DOOR - LEGACY 1/2 HP MODEL 696CD/B
Garage door is 15 yrs old...
Works perfectly - unTil Close Limit SLIPS out-of-adjustment...
Randomly - after 20 - 200 cycles - door will Close TOO FAR / Tension Limit re-opens door...
No warnin... No pattern..... Just when you least expect it...
What's odd -
When it SLIPS - it Really SLIPS..!
it takes a BIG adjustment to make it work again....

Gears look very good....

Any ideas???

THX

I would sooner think small diameter copper wire to attach to the pin & wind it in the manner that would prevent it from
slipping.....reminds me of whilst in the Air Force & using safety wire to attach to a hex nut that has holes drilled in it, and
winding in the correct direction to prevent it from loosening up.
