Door opener inop.

I have a Overhead Door model 7030 opener on my door. It was installed by them 3 years ago, but never had power to it, other than an extension cord, until today. There's a good chance that the eyes have been bumped and are out of whack. I'm getting a small red light on the unit, and the opener is inop. The eyes have lights on them, and one is green, but the other is red. Any ideas?

The photocells are as they should be one green one red on steady - a solid red led on the power unit indicates that the limits need to be set

Your owners manual should tell you what the red light on the unit means. That is not a model I have much history with. Each brand and model have different colors for eyes, so again, look it up. Liftmaster has green as sending and orange as receiving. Check your unit for lock out. Most interior pads have a button or slide switch to disable the remotes from working. That might be your red light on the main unit.

I found the owners manual online. Looks like I'll need to start from scratch and completely reprogram the thing. It was really disappointing today when it didn't work. I've been working on receptacles lately, and was excited about the opener finally working. Then it didn't. Thanks.

Got it going. Turns out that when you remove the wires from the button to install your tin ceiling, you have to re-install them. Go figure.
