hey guys, i have a question about my door opener.
i dont have a remote, so i use the button in side on the wall.
It will open with one push, but you haft to hold it down for the door to close all the way.
Any ideas whats going on ?
thanks ...

are you talking about the safety sensors at the bottom of the door ?
if so, i dont have these.
ive had this electric door for 12 years with no sensors and just this last 6 months or so, its been not working correctly.

Have you disconnected your opener, and operated the door manually to see if it's binding anywhere?

I'll agree with everything said above. The GDO should have an up and down force setting you can set without taking the case off the GDO.

Do you have a manual for the GDO? It's always a good thing to have. Also you may want to buy a remote for that GDO, or a universal remote.

Since you do not have the safety eyes, it is probably a force sensor adjustment. Look at the back of the power drive unit and there should be an adjustment. It could be your door weight is not balanced right. Is it a wood door? If so it could be heavier due to water.

What make opener is it? If it's only 12 years old, it has to have sensors! Unless it's a Wayne Dalton iDrive unit.

If that's the case, get rid of it and be thankful you got 12 years! They are no longer made.

If you do keep your door and get it fixed up, you do know that you can get a new replacement remote for the door
