Hello. I have a DoorKing 1835 security entrance gate system. The system has a board inside, and on that board there is a relay switch. When I press my gate remote, the system receives the open request and gives the order, but the relay has gone bad on the board. The problem is that the board has been replaced 3 times since July 2023. Every board has had the same issue after a few weeks. It could be faulty boards from DoorKing, but could it be something else? It seems like each time the problem starts, it's terrible weather...it has been raining or extremely cold. I find this to be more than a coincidence now that I'm on my 3rd board. I had two separate doorking installers out, and they keep saying it's a bad board, so get a new one. They use a wire to jump the relay, and the gate opens. So we know it is the relay on the board. How can very cold weather cause a relay to stop working? Buy cold, I mean 30's. We are in Florida. Before the relay went completely out, I noticed it started acting up during heavy rain or abnormally cold nights but would start working again when it warmed in the daylight. Then, another weather event occurs, and it goes completely out.
Gate guys used a wire to bypass the relay, and the gate opened normally. Remove the jump wire, gates receives the instruction but doesn't open the gate.
I'm worried I'll just get the new board installed this time, and it will happen again. Can you think of anything these guys are missing?
