I'm looking into installing some pallet rack in the shop. Has anyone seen doors that could be attached to the front? I prefer the "put away, by hiding look"

thanks,

Worked at a place that had them boxed in with sheets of plywood. Just had hinges and you would open an 8ft wide section (8ft between posts on the racks we had)

It was mainly to keep dust and dirt off teh stuff but it cleaned up the place too.

Not doors but I have used canvas paint tarps as curtains. They look good and are easy to move out of the way as they don't have to swing out. I just used some EMT as a curtain rod and some brass grommets from Home Depot to make strong holes in them.

You can also use blinds to cover the racks, looks quite good and no fuss to get out of the way.

I have put sliding doors on many times. Just screw the tracks onto the load beams and cut the doors to size.

One of the rack suppliers makes doors - can't remember the name. They carry them at Menards (if you have one where you are). They basically have 'build your own' pallet racks - drawers, doors, half shelves, etc.

All, thanks for the inputs. I really like the sliding door idea. I don't have a Menard's in my area...but I did see those last time I visited Missouri. I tried to find them on-line but couldn't.

thanks again, always great ideas on this site.

You could also do a flip up/slide in door similar to a horizontal file cabinet. That would give you access to the whole shelf instead of the 1/2 at a time that the sliding doors give.
