I have the jumper hoses pictured below for my compressor and compressed air plumbing.

I know to use tape/dope on the end that screws into the compressor and pipe fitting.

My question is should I use tape/dope on the end that goes to the flared fitting.

In other words should I put tape/dope on the threads circled in red in the last picture?

Thanks in advance for any help.

For tapered thread (SAE inch pipe or British pipe) for air systems thread tape or thread dope is needed to make an effective seal in the threads. Loctite thread sealant is also a good choice.

For hydraulic systems pipe thread tape should be avoided if possible. If applied properly thread tape can be used. But too many people don't apply pipe thread carefully to avoid thread tape getting into the hydraulics. For hydraulics, pipe thread dope or Loctite style tapered thread sealant is the best choice.
