Anybody ever seen a wrench like this? I can't figure out why it has a square drive.

How about plumbing or older cars with square drain plugs? Maybe the wrench originally came in a set with a bunch of different adapters that could attach to sockets or other "do it all" solutions?

Hmm 1/4 drive on one end and 3/8 drive on the other must be part of the puzzle. If you had male male extensions you could use it as a ratchet. Or it could be handy for smaller pipe plugs which are often square.

Refrigeration valve wrench. If you ever go into HVAC or refrigeration you will carry atleast two of them at all times.
