Double Bubble with Soffit and Ridge Vent?

Building a new building and I'm not initially planning to heat/cool anything. Builder has the option for double bubble, but with a soffit and ridge vent system is it really necessary to keep the roof panels from condensating? Later on I will likely install thinner metal ceiling panels and put in blown in cellulose. In my eyes this system is the same as what I have on my house currently. Any reason to spend the $3200 on double bubble for the roof?

I concur on the price being a little high. This is a product I have used.

I used it in conjuction with the white high density foam under floor heat slab. Very small bubbles and seemed like tuff stuff. I also used it to wrap ductwork.

If the price for the insul is $1500. $3000 installed sounds about right.

I would find out exactly what product they are specifying and read up on it.

The building is decent size, 30x60. May be why it's a little high. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of more insulation and I don't mind paying for install and the product, but if it's value was dubious due to my venting I would skip it, save the $3200 and put it toward something else.

Not sure what spray foam costs in your area but it was 10k for me to do my 30x60. I almost did the same thing, but by the time added up bubble and cellulose and fiberglass I was already halfway to the price of foam installed in a single day. So I did spray foam. It’s great. I’d at least consider it if you can swing the money and if rates are reasonable. Plus In did a bit more foam than really necessary. Probably could’ve done only 2 inches on roof deck.

It probably depends on where you live, here the double bubble is considered a complete waste of money if you have vented soffits and ridge vents. I can't imagine what purpose it would serve.

Ditto. Especially if you're going to install a ceiling with blown insulation shortly.
