Below is a vfd i can afford and 2 motors 1 i think is in the parameters the other not so much but after reading a 100 posts i think the motor will still work just not full capacity.I know its all cheap wont last all that but its what i got thanks for the advice

Looks like a 20ho motor, and you want to run it on a 10hp rated VFD?

Not gonna work.

Sorry all pics didnt post one supposed to be 10 and other a 15 everytime i read about it folks start arguing about it but if half are correct a 20 horse motor on 10 horse vfd will do 10 horse work but i havent a clue

I haven't done anything more then browse threads so don't quote me on this, but I think your VFD needs to be at least 2x your motor rating.

I'm guessing you don't have the motor or the VFD.

I just have access to a bunch of these type motors and would love to use them somehow cheap.My driveway is 2 miles long thru thick woods so 3 phase power aint happening

Build a rotary phase converter.

If im interpreting it right the way that vfd is wrote up if it says 7.5 then its actually a 15

Your VFD needs to be a higher horsepower rating than the largest motor you want to run. Also I’ll second what Pcustoms says, build a rotary phase converter. Since you have an abundance of three phase motors take that 20hp and build your RPC and then you can comfortably run any motor rated less than the 20hp.

Why would an air compressor be any different then any other 3 phase load?

I want it to switch on and off and one motor would have to get to speed before the other can turn on im not sayin it cant be done but it would take a engineer a weekend and a bottle of jack to do it

That should get you some great privacy. How long does that take to plow in the winter?

No man I live in florida its how big are your tires under 31/10/50 and I gotta pick you up where pavement stops especially now we just got a ton of rain.
