I keep my pop up camper and my 16" open deck car trailer in my pole barn. Neither gets used more than a handful of times / year.

I'm trying to come up with a way to store the pop up on top of the car trailer thus freeing up a ton of floor space in the barn.

I'm thinking of building some inclinded ramps, similar to drive on alignment rack, that I could back the pop up onto. Once the pop up is backed all the way up the ramp then I would use a winch to lift the front of the pop up and the front of the the ramps up to a raised height. I could then put my car trailer in below. Bingo, double decker trailers.

Would something like that work?

Does anyone else store one trailer above another?

Why not just park the camper on the back of the car trailer? I know it would be a pain if you needed the car trailer quick but it would save alot of trouble/money.

Just get 4 post lift or park the car trailer outside. It is a steel car trailer. It's not going to melt. :p

The trailer has lived outside since 1986. I finally have an inside storage place for it. I'm hoping to bring it inside to extend its life.

Any thing can work it just depends on how much money you want to spend.

But I would first check into a lift there are a ton out on the market to store cars you can just use one for you popup.........now that I think of it my buddy has one that we backed up the popup onto to work on the pullys once. Its the type you drive on to.

I like you original idea.

It would be a welding project to get the hinges onto the rear support posts.
Then some kind of sockets in the floor and pins on top of some posts for aligning the front end supports.
