The valve you can put under a kitchen sink that supplies cold water to two places.....is that called a DOUBLE STOP VALVE ? I want a cold water cutoff to the sink faucet and another cold water cut off to the water filter (so I can change the filter element).

Is there more than one name for it ? I want to tell the plumber the right name of the valve .

Thanks in advance ! John

There are two varieties of those valves, one which one handle shuts off both supplies, and the other has a shut off for each supply, either type are common for the HW supply to the sink & a dishwasher, much better to be able to shut off one without affecting the other.
