My wife and I are "remodeling" our home. We left 2 exterior walls up and gutted everything else. She wanted to be able to park in the garage, and I wanted to be able to work in it. We decided to make a garage that would serve both needs. It ended up being about 1,000 sq ft of floor space, with the plan for lifts to hold our "collector" cars. 3 lifts, 6 cars. Hence the name double stuff. It's currently just framed up with a dirt floor.

We have a 2 year old boiler with nothing to do, so we're going to run pex for some radiant heat. It will also be fully insulated. Looking for suggestions on how to lay out the work area. I have the following:

30" range (for powder coating)
Powder coating gun (I plan on building a little cabinet on top of the oven to spray the powder)
60 gallon compressor
Sandblasting cabinet
Welding cart
Utility sink

I was going to mount the compressor above the upper cabinets on a shelf in the stand alone wall above the workbench. Other than that, I think most of the "stuff" will go in the single car garage side. There's not much room on the left side, but there's nothing I could have done - we were at the property setback limit. I'll get some pictures of the garage as soon as I get the chance.

How about some dimensions? Door size? Scale?
Compressor can go anywhere. You will want pipe running around with drops for air.
Consider putting the workbench on wheels. The wall will get in your way at some point. I can't say when, but you will know when it does.
What is the room in the lower left of the diagram used for?

After 2 years, the house is mostly finished. We had a bunch of setbacks with supply issues, but it's finally built. Yay! We finished moving all our stuff from 5 storage facility rooms to the garage last weekend (saving us tons of $$$), so it's pretty packed and stacked with boxes, but I'll get some pictures once we get the boxes moved out. In the meantime, I redrew the garage with some dimensions. During the build I made some mistakes, but I'm happy. The garage is drywalled but not painted yet. There is a sink (couldn't get a urinal approved by the township without a bunch of extra stuff) and the arrows are 1/2" copper airline connections and there are outlets on every wall.
The airline is run in a ring around the top of the garage, with connections at about 48" off the floor. I can add a regulator, oiler, or air dryer to any of these connections. The air compressor is sitting on the top of the cubby area between the 1 car and 2 car garages and that's where the airline loop connects to the compressor and a radiator. Pics to come once I can get to it.
I'm planning on one of those "Top Shelf" lifts for my hitch mounted bike rack and our bikes.
The wall on the left is 8' tall, and the ceiling at the edge of the loft is about 4' above it and about 7' deep.
