Dovetailed Pergola

Having my pergola installed on the shop today. The construction method is dovetails and pegs. This is after 90 minutes! Goes up quick when all the parts are cut.

wow that looks great! May I ask how you did the dovetails? I am thinking about a similar project, so I'm very interested in how you prepared the joints :thumbup:

Here it is finished. 2 hours, 15 minutes! I brought the blue pottery sign back from Barbados with me.

Very nice!!!

Im in the process of landscaping/hardscaping the yard. Well, were having it done I should say.

We are also doing a large pergola. COuld you please tell me what type of wood that is. And if its stained.

Wow, it would take me 2hrs 15 minutes to figure out which piece is which! ha ha

Very nice looking, and no fasteners to rust, come undone, look ugly...

They used a t shaped plate with a 2" flat plate sticking up. 4 anchors and bolts, post is routed with a groove on the bottom and slips on to the plate. The posts are actually up about 1/8" off the concrete, sitting on plate.
