I have been a member for a while now and I figured that I would finally post something. This site is great and has given me alot of great ideas for my project. I tore down my 1 1/2 car garage and built a 24 x 22 two car garage. I built it a couple of years ago but it is still a work in progress. Basically it is finished but I am adding as I go. I will post some pics now and some more in a couple of days.

Nice project. Sometimes tearing one down and starting from scratch makes the most sense. But it takes a lot of vision to see that when you are trying to figure out what the best way to go is.

Looks good, WAY better use of space!

How far is the garage from your house now? Doesn't look that tough to get into the left-hand bay. Mine is only 16' behind the house and a bear to get into the far bay.

Thumbs up on the planning.

Thanks everyone. The garage is about 23 feet from the house now, compared to the 5 feet from the back of the house I had before. I can access the left side of the garage bay with my suv very easily the pictures are very deceiving. At the time I was happy with my 1 1/2 car garage but there wasn't enough room to do anything with a car in it. I have alot of pictures, I will post a few every day.
Thanks

Nice job it looks great. I like those cedar impression vinyl shakes on the front it dresses it up, especially with the soffit lights. The paint looks great too.

Nice. I like the soffit lighting and the step up stripe. That's how I did mine where we used to live. I miss that garage. I'm building a new barn this spring and I can't wait. I will probably steal some of your ideas (and others) if you all don't mind. Take care.

I used a 1 inch braided Granger hose from compressor to a 3/4 inch copper pipe
which I ran all my air lines. I have Three drops.

I know I screwed up and the riser should be at least 5 to 6 inches high, I dont know what I was thinking, too late now. I havent had any problems with moisture yet. :headscrat

50 foot hose real and in the back ground a cheap harbor freight filter, will change as soon as I have more money.

This is my better filter that I use for sandblasting, works pretty good

Here are some more pics. This is a pic of a my fridge that I had for one year before my house was struck by lighting and shorted it out. I couldnt see throwing it out, so I figured I would use it for something. So I made it into my powder coating box and it does a great job for small items.

Wow smart idea! How is the box fan at keeping the dust down? I'll have to remember this one.

That's really odd as I have a similar set up.
I had to run a fence from my house across to the garage and thought about using the little scalloped picket fence you used but ended up using my old 5' cedar fence. Needed the fence for my 2 dogs and 2 little kids.
I also like the soffit lighting. I may do this as well.

I am amazed you were able to build that thing! By code I had to be 10 feet from the property line, yet you built right up to the fence. How did you get away with that?
I do enjoy visiting friends in Western Suffolk and Nassau that have small but packed backyards. I'm spoiled with a large Eastern Suffolk property.:bounce:

Thanks, the fan has 3 speeds on it, I have to keep it on the 2nd speed or it will **** out all the powder out if it is on three and number one is not enough. It works perfect, I use this alot.

That is my Halloween prop that I made. it is a gatlin gun that I made of a broken drill and pvc pipe. I was the Terminator for a Halloween party, that I won 1st place. It works, has strobe lights on it as the barrels spin, I fooled alot of people with that gun. Here are some pics.
