But still a net gain of 1 drawers !

Okay, so about 9 months ago, I gave up trying to cram all my pliers and cutters into oe drawer. Since joining up here, I must have bought 8-10 new "specialty" pliers. (Extra needle nose, extra long bent needle nose, long small hose pliers, more locking pliers, etc). They just would not fit, or if I got the drawer to close. I could not find anything when I opened it. Solution : a middle chest !

So I split up the pliers into 2 drawers and moved the hammers down to the 3rd drawer of the middle which was actually deeper. That was a bonus, plus the screwdrivers moved down to a deeper drawer. Bonus #2 ! Bonus #3, I had 2 spare drawers, One now holds sandpaper and emery cloth, which was all over the place before. The last one became a junk drawer.

Now I am only 5'9" so I built a little 1 step stool so I could still see on the top. Last bonus was the middle box happened to be ball bearing. NICE !!!

Well, I have been struggling with my bottom chest. I needed a deeper drawer for my drill motors, grinders and accessories. Plus, because I cheaped out and did not get ball bearing glides he first time, the drawer with my pneumatic tool and sockets was extremely difficult to open and close.

So I went down to Sears and bough a new Craftsman HD ball bearing glide 4 drawer bottom chest. Why did I wait so long !!! I was able to consolidate the 2 thinnest drawers into 1 and that junk drawer plus I threw a few things out that I could not remember what they were from/for !

You have to treat yourself every once on awhile !

Oh my aching back !

Swap all the rawers from the old bottom to the new. Nice to have on pre-cut liner. That drawer full of pneumatic tools and sockets opens and closes so SMOOTH !

Empty all the drawers in the top chest. Take the heavy stuff out of the middle. Yank the top chest off, still pretty darn heavy ! Swap the middle chest over and reload what I took out. Reload all the stuff in the top.

I'll try to do pics tomorrow.
