Doyle pliers at harbor freight

Has anyone tried any of these yet. I bought a set of slip joints , needle nose and cutters. I wanted to take my expensive stuff back home. I am tired of losing expensive stuff. I am on the road for my day job and my side business. So stuff gets lost. I have to say I am quite impressed with the quality of these pliers for the money. I have only had them for 2 weeks but so far so good. Next is the crimp tool if they ever get it in stock. I am especially impressed with the diagonal cutters. For the money they are good tools. I have cut stuff these had no business cutting. Still working like a champ.

Been using the needle noses for a month. So far they're working great. I don't use them in super strenuous situations though. They definitely feel a lot nicer and stronger than the old $4 needle nose that HF sells.

I don't know, I've looked at them, but they're dancing too close to the edge of some perceived better quality pliers for me to give them a try. I can pick up a pair of Irwin made long nose pliers off Amazon for the same price even after the coupon. They look decent, but I'll let others play before giving them a shot.

I like my Klein's, Knipex and Craftsman USA just fine. (also own Kobalt, Masterforce and Husky too)

I was looking at them but tbh the price point isn't too far off of Channellock which are US made and I'd rather shell out the extra for those.

I will say however that the locking Bremen pliers I've been using heavily the last 3 weeks or so are far better than the old version and a big step up from my Chinese Irwin's I'm about to give away.

The teeth are nice and strong. And there is almost zero side to side slop in even the long nose pliers which is a must for pinching small items.

For a few dollars more buy the Made in USA pliers. This is where they will have a hard time competing with USA items.

Was looking through my portable tool box which is mostly Taiwan & Chinese stuff with a smattering of US Craftsman. I noticed my Groove Adjustable pliers that were in the portable box were absolute garbage...no clue how they even got in there. So I used a 20% coupon at HF to pick up a set of tongue & groove adjustable pliers. These are quite comparable to my Channellock's I keep in my tool box at home.

I'll stick to my Channellocks for real work, but I'm happy I bought these for my portable box.

I got a pair of the 8" side cutters a few weeks ago, and so far they've been working well. I was there to exchange a broken side cutter (the ones with red and black grips) but they don't stock them any more. The Doyle cutters probably cost $10 more than my old ones and the manager did an even up exchange. That was surprising. I even offered to pay the difference, but he said that wasn't necessary.

I haven't tried them yet but I've checked 'em out. I think the brass at HF are brilliant. Clearly they are trying to improve their reputation by offering better tools that are on par with, or if not better than, other budget brands like Husky, Craftsman, Kobalt, etc. I'll probably grab a pair of those Doyle pliers and give 'em a fair shake around the garage or in my road box. FWIW even though this is a Doyle thread, I've never had any issues at all with any of the Pittsburgh Pro ratchets and sockets. To all those out there that say HF only sells "throw away" tools - I'm not buying. There is definitely some good stuff in there if you know what to look for. -just my 2-cents.

I bought a pair of the angled side cutters to try them out. My experience with HF pliers has been spotty at best, but these are very clearly the best pliers line they have. Used a coupon and paid about $12 for them. So far they have been great and seem to be a nice fit between the higher priced stuff and the dirt-cheap Chinese pliers. More than OK for my DIY use.

I have to say after a week or so using the diagonal cutters daily I am extremely impressed. The cutting knives are sharp and cut pretty much everything with ease. For less than $12 with coupon these are a good buy. I will be buying the crimp tool as soon as it shows up in stock. I normally try to buy US made as much as possible. But being in the field I am I loose or leave behind more tools than I will ever break. The quality is definitely there for what you pay. We will see about longevity.

They seem pretty decent but I can't stand the Channellock style groove joint pliers. Their linesman pliers and cable cutters seem alright for the price, good for an apprentice or an extra set.
