I dont think that would be nearly enough for a 3 car garage?I think it might be for a small room.You might need something like a 15,000-40,000 btu depending on insulation?

That first heater is about 19,000 btu, so the answer is, Maybe.
What is the square footage you plan to heat? How well is it insulated? What is your outside temperature? How warm do you expect to heat it to inside? These factors all come into play.

I didnt realize it was 19kbtu i thought it said 9k btu?That might be ok for your application?

I live in Indiana my garage is insulated and I would like to be able to warm it up to 60 or more deg. On a 20 degree day.
It should do the job if you give it time. I can heat my 1150 sq ft garage with 30,000 btu on the coldest days when it is -20 to -40 outside. I never heat it above +50 degrees inside because it is too much temperature change for me to handle between inside and outside.

I just replaced a 4 kw construction type heater that did a respectable job of keeping my 1200 sq ft garage heated. When it got really cold blow 20 degrees the inside temp would fall, but a kerosene heater would pick up the slack. Garage is well insulated with R 19 in the walls.
Jeez, this heater was expensive to run. At 4 kw @ .15 kwh = .60 / hr = $14.40 day or ~ $432.00 per month if run continuously.

I think people have used 2 of them comfortably for your size. Or 1, but it takes a while. Check your local HVAC shops they might have an older gas furnace to sell you. I got mine for $100.

That little sucker would struggle in a 3 car. Hows your insulation?
House is 10yrs old. Insulation is just the standard batting and blown in the attic. I will call our local contractor for a estiment. I doubt they will have a economical solution. Best way will be to buy then have them install I bet.
Sounds like maybe that little infrared will work for me. I can add a louver to the top to direct it down. It wil be limited use.
I was hoping somebody had used or been around one,reviews look good.

I have that heater and have been using it to heat the 600 sq ft woodshop section of my shop. I bought it as temporary heat for this winter since I do not have my radiant floor heat operational yet. It heats this space up nicely and I am somewhat impressed by it. It is intended to be temporary heat and thus there are no provisions for permanently mounting it. It does have a cord with a 30 amp 220 volt male end so you will have to have a 220 volt circuit and receptacle for it. If your garage is relatively well insulated, especially if it is attached to your house, I think it will work OK for you.

Actually one of the 5 star reviews is mine
It works very well in my garage. If you have good insulation it works good to maintain the heat. I run mine on the thermostat setting without any issues.

How large is your space? What climate are you in? How thick is your wall/ceiling insulation? I've been looking at that model. It seems undersized for my space, but some of the reviews make it sound like a miracle worker.

I am in the Boise Idaho area and have a 5 car garage attached to the house. My house is a certified energy star home. My walls are 2x6 thick. I believe that I have real good insulation in the attic and walls. This heater works very well for my needs. When its about 35 degrees outside my garage maintains about 50 to 55 degrees inside. When using this heater I can raise the temp to about 70 degrees in about an hour. I will say that it does pump out the heat, whether ones garage can maintain the heat and keep the cold out is a different story.

THey are mounted evenly on the cieling and they can keep the room warm
even with -10 degrees outside.
Of course it uses lots of power! 1Kwh is about 32 US cent and it is running
about 25Kwh a day. But it does not smell and is quiet.
My shot is 72 square meter and 3 meter high.

Since my 18k btu propane wall heater got stolen and is still sitting in the police station as "evidence" I bought a 1500 watt oil filled radiator. It was $30ish. When its 30 degrees outside my garage is 50 degrees. I have R19ish in the ceiling and R13 in the walls and the ceiling isn't finished yet.
My hopes are to be able to lower the setting on this to keep the garage just above freezing when I get my heater back and then crank up the propane when I am out there. It costs me $4 a day to leave it running on high 24/7. You could probably have 2 of these in your garage and it would keep it warm seeing as how you have better insulation than I do.

How would this heater compare to the FUH54 or G73 heaters? Is it pretty much the same type and quality of heater? Can be had for less then half the price.
