Drain Question

I am looking for a sump basin that has a removable type bucket. So instead of having to pump the basin out, I would just lift the bucket out and dump it. Anyone know of a company that makes such a thing?

I am not aware of anything that you describe. When you say sump basin I immediately think of a 20" diameter and 36" deep sump pump basin. To have a solid bucket line that and to have you lift it out would be nearly impossible. In my work we use a 12" drain body as a floor sink for food equipment drains. They can be ordered with sediment buckets that keep large particles out of the drain trap......would that work?

Hmm, I'm not sure. A drain to the outside is against the law except if its tied into your house sewer; so a single pit is used that would just get pumped out. I'm trying to find a solution to not have to pump it out. If I have a removable bucket of some sort in the floor, this would be easier than putting a pump in and stringing hose every time.

This would only be an issue in the winter. All the snow that melts off the vehicles is what this would be used for

Why not just find one that will fit and drop it in or make the hole square and have a bucket made with a flanged lip. What your trying to o is not all that difficult.

I know its not difficult. I could stick a five gallon pail in the floor with a metal grate over it. I was just wondering if a company made one to make the install neat

I have not seen what you are describing...but as you describe it more you want to use a sump basin (plastic ribbed w/ molded inlets that typically get installed in basements for sump pump) but use it connect your floor drains to with hard pipe? Then you want a tighter fitting (but smaller depth so inlet water is not blocked) bucket that you can lift out to dump outside? Could you buy two basins and cut one off at the appropriate height and improvise a handle to lift it out? I don't think you would want to lift out more than a five gallon pail size at a time right?

Thats perfect. I'll just weld up a grate for the top so I can drive on it
