I an seriously considering either RaceDeck or MotoFloor tiling for the garage.

I have a square drain (approx 12"x18") in the center of the garage, but the cover is recessed by about 3/4", compared to the edge of the concrete floor:

Have any of you addressed similar issue ? Did you get some plate made to support the tiles above the drain cover ?

I was thinking of using 2x2 "FreeFlow" style tiles above the drain itself. Any comments or experience to share ?

You most likely can go right over the drain with FreeFlow and I have also seen customers run the RaceDeck right along both side the running drain grate, leaving it open

I had two drains at my last shop. I just laid my racedeck tile directly over them. Never had a problem at all.

I didnt put a freeflow tile in as the drains where old and I didnt need them.

If you want to use the drain I would use the freeflow tile over that area.

I'm curious... with these tiles, drain or not, what happens when water runs on the tiles? I'm guessing these aren't water tight, so water just seeps in and gets trapped underneath the tiles?

You must have either a drain or a slope towards your garage door.
Water should be able to flow underneath the tiles and get evacuated. At least, the RaceDeck & MotoFloor are shaped to let water flow.

I just ordered MotoFloor tiles. I can let you know in a week or two how the underside is shaped. There are very few good pictures of these tiles.
