Drainage around garage door

I have an issue with water and my garage man door. During heavy rain, I will get some water in the garage. The solution is to get the water away from the door, and I could use some advice. Hopefully you can see the slope in the pictures. There is a slight slope away from the door, but it isn't enough.

I'm going to trench and install pipe for the downspouts to drain into. That will extend beyond the house (to the left of the door and drain in the natural gully between the houses. I've also thought about removing sod, and building up the group level against the house and removing some towards the tree, to make a more pronounced valley to naturally channel the water.

My real question is what to do in front of the door itself. I thought about making a small stem wall to the right, which would retain the raised slope I make on the right. Then I would pour a small concrete pad in front of the door, with it sloping away from the door. I could also put a drain in and tie it to the downspout drain pipe.

Other suggestions/opinions? I feel like I've been staring at this for too long and have analysis paralysis...

If you can trench a drain from it, perhaps just a course gravel pad with perforated pipe and some geotextile. Not quite seeing the slope, a little retaining wall on up slope side of door might be helpful in keeping mud out of stone.

Thats a tough one. I cant believe they built it like that. I would want at least a concrete pad in front of the door sloping away but you really would need to regrade the entire yard to do it right. I think the bottom of the door should be at least a few inches above grade.

I would put a cement pad in front of the door with a roof over it like KBS recommended. I think you'll be surprised by how much the gutter drains will help. It might solve the whole issue besides those 100 year floods. But since you're trenching already, I would trench in the valley, then place both the gutter pipe and a solid wall french drain system in the same trench.

Looks like the whole yards slopes toward the building. Might be a tiny bit of slope away right next to the building. Where is the water supposed to go? Assuming towards the camera?

Good question and it looks like grading is not really an option.
I would dig a french drain parallel along the house with at least one additional drain pipe for the gutters.
Depending how much water you get I would run a second drain pipe and split the roof drains or like Zeke said go bigger.
Digging is the hardest part so I would rather go bigger or add drain pipes than have to do dig again.

Go to the city and get the builders plot plan for your house. It will show the intended drainage of the property. Regrade to the city's drainage requirements.

Just do a small re-grade away from the door if necessary, install a catch basin, and drain to a lower area, around the house. Hopefully you have enough fall to slope pipe.

You can size the pipe based on your parameters. There are basic calculators on-line for free to do this.

Clean catch basin every now and then...
