So does anyone think I need a drain in my shop when I'm putting in-floor heat? Someone told me I don't need them unless I plan on washing vehicles in there which I don't. Pros and cons?

I agree with Bill - Drains would definitely be a plus with snow/ice stuck to car and thawing inside. Its not *needed* though, you could just mop up.

Aren't you from the great white north?

You ever get that white stuff on your car and then park it in the garage?

Ya I forgot to put that in my post. Actually that was one reason I was planning on putting in a drain but a friend told me I won't need them because the floor will dry everything up.

Put in the drain, I'm so glad that I did.

Just make sure that the slope to the drain only covers the parking area and is gentle otherwise tools will be rolling all around the floor.

Put it in with the slight slope to it. Be sure to get a good contractor as well to do the slope. Do not pass up the chance to do it right the first time.
