Drawers and Bins. - How do you store the small stuff?

I am in the middle of a major garage cleanup and, like most of you, have accumulated lots of bits and pieces (bolts, screws, nuts, washers, rubber caps, springs, etc).

I have my metal hardware in a storage bin like this:

It just happens to fit in one of my upper cabinets over the workbench.

I have another one for more random items in smaller quantities but the rack doesn't fit in a cabinet and I don't want to see it all of the time.
I had it on a shelf in a built in cabinet, but I need that space for other larger items (paint and painting supplies).

I love the idea of these:

but not sure where to utilize them.
I might be best served with just the locking drawers without the sliding rack.
I might be able to tuck those into another overhead cabinet.

So - where and how do YOU store all of the bits and pieces?

Pictures would be great. Dimensions would also be nice.

Thanks in advance !

The Durham cabinets and drawers like in the first 2 posts are about 120 bucks at Zoro tools. Thats the cheapest Ive found them. I like to get them used but dont find them often.

Next time I am over at my parents' house, I'll snap a few Picts of my Dads wall of hardware.
He collected, drained and cleaned MANY standard plastic oil cans.

Some shallow shelves and a lot of organizing got him a wall of bits that rival any hardware or automotive store.

I just don't have the wall space that he does in his shop.

Different kinds of plastic storage bins inside these cabinets I got FREE!!! from Craigslist.

I've been intending to make long doors to enclose the whole front...but you know how intentions go...

I use a bunch of those Tilt Out Bins for my small parts storage, not portable but it works for me.

I like anything with a lid that closes securely so you can stack or shelve them densely and not worry about anything falling out or getting stuck when you pull it from the shelf. Especially since I keep alot of stuff on high shelves... go vertical and save the lower space for big items and work area. A bonus of those storage boxes with lids and handles is that it's easy to take a selection of sizes/types to where you're working without making alot of trips.

My dad added some 1x4 shelves between posts and houses a LOT of standard sized emptied oil bottles:
