I have one of these HF tool carts:

I'm happy with the cart, but the drawers do not stay open. As soon as you take your hand off the handle, they slide shut.

Anyone have a solution to stop this? I like the drawers to stay open.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same cart, and have noticed almost the same thing. I've found that if I load up the drawers, they stay open and don't want to close so easily. The problem is that now theres a bunch of extra stuff in the drawers - I use the cart for some bodywork supplies - sandpaper (rolls, strips for longboard, sheets), abrasive discs, etc., and these things aren't heavy enough to stop the drawers from moving around.
Also noticed that the detents to keep them closed are also stiff - takes a lot of effort (for a toolbox drawer) to close them all the way.

Also, place the cart on a level surface. Take a level on the top of the cart from front to back and side to side. You might be able to loosen the bolts on the legs to get things level. If the drawers are level from front to back with they are open they should stay that way. May just need a little tweeking to get it exactly level. You can do a quick check with the small square in some of the corners. It should be level if its square which it might not be.

I'll check it for level. I guess the box could be crooked on the legs. I use it all over the shop, and it does it every place I use it.

Checked the box and it is level. Still does it. Any ideas on how to alter the drawers so they stay open?

You could hog out the holes where the drawer unit bolts up to the legs to allow a little adjustability - tighten them up with the drawer unit slightly cocked back. Finished.
