Hello all, I am finally as fortunate as the rest of you. I am building the GARAGE / Man cave of my dreams 37x47. This will store my bird collection, Mint original 1979 Bandit Trans Am and 1977 frame off crazy Bandit Clone, 1965 AC Cobra and a Trailed out Jeep TJ. It is a 3 car garage (one 20ft door one 10ft door). The objective of this shop is a hang out / medium to heavy automotive maintenance work. There is a kitchenette, a full bath for the heavy work days, storage area 4x30, tool bay and tons of windows with 16 foot ceilings, Planning the location of the electrical for the lift, air compressor, heating and cooling now. The project is at the dried in stage and electrical is going in now.

Any of you have the Bend Pak 4 post lift and know if the pump motor could be located to any post?

Any suggestions on a nice stand up style air compressor that is not too loud?

Also, what experience has anyone had with a “Big Air” fan. I am looking at 10 footer, the cost is less than the Big *** fan.

Hello TAG,

I’m ordering a Bend-Pak 9 four-Post lift soon.

I believe the motor and controls can be located on the forward left or back right post only.

Congratulations on building your dream shop and welcome to the GJ forum.

As for compressors, I have an older Quincy upright compressor that I purchased new in the early 90's when I built my first shop. I moved it to my new shop a few months ago and it is still going strong. I have my 50x60 detached divided into two sections, a shop and an RV garage bay in which I located my compressor in the storage bay. It is so much quieter than having it in the same area as I'm working. I can barely hear the hum of the compressor when it kicks on and can even carry on a conversation in the shop easily now.

Good luck with the shop build and be sure to post up some pictures of the progress. Sounds awesome.
