Dremel sanding discs..silly question maybe?

I would like to take advantage of the entire area of my dremel sanding disc but was never able to figure out how to do so with that screw in the middle. Does that screw in the middle mean that I can only utilize part of the disc surface area?

Never seen them for a Dremel, would be nice.

I believe I saw such a beast on Amazon. Now I am not sure it was natively from dremel but was marketed for such.

I'd cut a small backing disc out of appropriate thickness aluminum, brass or acetal and thread on Mandrel 401. (or 402 w/countersunk mandrel screw.) Cut your sanding discs out a PSA sand paper sheets.

I wouldn't hold out much hope though. I think using it would be jittery and it wouldn't stay flat. I think those little detail sanders would do a better job.

If you only use 1/2 the disc touching the surface at a time, it may work. Touching all may be a disaster.

When I use the existing disc w screw, I have a hard time controlling it, even at the lowest speeds.
