Drill bit identification

Hey, I will be posting in the show off....err Garage sale thread shortly but I just picked up a sizable lot of tools from a former machinist. One of the items is a large red bit box with the majority of the slots labeled with the bit sizes, but one section label using the alphabet. The bits are all marked with "PTS" "USA" and "HS". The only label on the box is one that states the product was made in the US from German parts.

Anyone have an idea as to the brand these may be? I will get pictures up as soon as I can.

The sizes are most likely letters, numbers, and fractions. Very common in the machine shop. I usually end up with many different brands in my drill index depending on the age of the drill, and who the company decided to buy them from.

Many of the indexs came from a brand called Hout

A few of the common drill manufactures are precision twist drill, Cleveland, keo, and Chicago Latrobe. Sometimes I end up with drills that just say USA or HSS (high speed steel)

No worries, I was planning on sticking to Craigslist for the time being. I do a lot of lurking around here but not much posting.
